Our consultations and designs can help you transform your urban landscape into an inviting and colorful Xeriscape that you will enjoy while saving water and providing a beautiful natural habitat for butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and other essential pollinators.
What is Xeriscape?
Xeriscape refers to a landscape that can survive on rainfall and little to no supplemental water.  The principles of Xeriscaping  were originally developed by Denver Water in 1981 in response to water shortages.  The name is derived from the Greek word “Xeros” meaning "dry."

Get paid to Xeriscape!
The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) is in the process of developing a statewide Turf Replacement Program beginning in the spring of 2023. It is expected to boost funding for existing rebate programs and create new turf replacement programs state wide.  See the CWCB web site for more information.
In the summer time, up to 60% of water consumed daily by households is used for outdoor watering of landscapes.  More than half of that water is wasted due to evaporation, runoff, overwatering and poor maintenance.  Xeriscape practices and proper irrigation can result in a 30–80% water savings in the landscape!
Instead of a large water thirsty Bluegrass lawn, use native and adapted plants to Colorado that can better survive the arid harsh climate along the Front Range.
Replacing turf grass with more drought tolerant and hardy plants saves on water, mowing and maintenance!

Check with your local water utility company about rebates they may offer for turf replacement that will help you transform your landscape into a beautiful water-wise Xeriscape.

Droughts are World Wide
Even England, a county known more for tea, rain and umbrellas, or "brollies", is suffering from a prolonged drought.
It's Xeriscape not Zero-scape
“Zero-scapes” filled with rocks cause wasteful water runoff and heat buildup that parches  nearby trees and shrubs.
